I have recently started wearing a new hat, that of homeschool dad. We are just beginning to get acquainted with the world of homeschooling. We have so much to learn. But, thankfully, we are starting from the beginning, with a kindergartner and a preschooler.
We take an ecclectic approach to education with classical education as a foundation. We are part of a Classical Conversations (CC) community where I am also a tutor. CC memory work serves as a springboard for history, science, and fine arts studies. Our choices for English and math curriculum are a bit more traditional: Logic of English and Alpha Omega’s Horizons Math. For learning the Bible, we keep it simple. We use the Interactive Storybook Bible to highlight key gospel themes and cover the biblical narrative a little more indepth than other Bible storybooks we have used. Finally, we use Ask Me Whooo? to learn the children’s catechism through song.
